On December 3, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a press conference, where You Yong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization, introduced the situation regarding the development of the new energy vehicle industry. By the end of 2020, China's energy-saving and environmental protection industry, for example, had an output value of about 7.5 trillion yuan. The cumulative number of new energy vehicles promoted exceeded 5.5 million (note: data is still being updated), ranking first in the world for many years in a row. Solar battery modules have a 71% global market share.
Talking about the recycling of new energy vehicle power batteries, Mr. You Yong pointed out that as of the end of October this year, 171 related enterprises had set up 10,048 recycling service outlets in 31 provinces and municipalities nationwide, cultivating 26 backbone enterprises for laddering and recycling, and the initial establishment of a recycling system. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will speed up the research and development of "new energy vehicle power battery recycling management measures" sectoral regulations.
In addition, it will explore and promote new business models such as "Internet + recycling", encourage upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain to jointly build shared recycling channels and build a number of centralized recycling service outlets.
In terms of standard system and technological innovation, it will accelerate the introduction of a number of national and industry standards for the recycling of power batteries; increase the research and development of a number of key technologies such as efficient recycling, update and release the National Catalogue of Advanced Applicable Technology and Equipment for Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Resources, and accelerate the promotion and application of advanced technology and equipment for the recycling of power batteries.
You Yong mentioned that the supply of green and low-carbon products will be increased in the future. Encourage enterprises to use green design methods and tools to develop and promote a number of high-performance, high-quality, lightweight, low-carbon and environmentally friendly products. Expand the consumption of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic solar thermal products, green consumer electrical and electronic products, green building materials and so on.

Dear all relevant units:
With the commissioning of Tesla's Shanghai plant and traditional car giants such as Volkswagen and BMW accelerating the pace of electrification, the installed capacity of power batteries will soar in the future. The global demand for lithium battery materials has led to a surge in the price of key battery materials, pushing up the manufacturing costs of lithium battery manufacturers and posing a serious challenge to the sustainable development of China's new energy vehicle industry.
Used lithium batteries are valuable "urban mines", and green regeneration and material repair technology for retired power batteries is an important foundation for efficient recovery and recycling of end-of-life power battery materials. To enhance the technical level of industrial standards, three group standards, such as "Technical Specification for the Recycling of Used Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Anode Materials", initiated by the Power Battery Recycling and Recycling Alliance and led by China Electronic Energy Conservation Technology Association, are now solicited for the main drafting units and participating units of the standards for relevant units in the industry, and relevant enterprises are expected to actively apply for participation. Specific matters are notified as follows:
Application Unit Requirements
Automotive, battery, energy, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization and other industry-related enterprises and institutions, battery dismantling equipment enterprises, dismantling enterprises, familiar with the development of the industry; with certain technical ability and strength, good reputation in the industry; with a certain degree of experience in the development of standards work.
